Kotte Mahanayake Thero Blesses President Anura Kumara Dissanayake

Colombo – President Anura Kumara Dissanayake received the blessings of the Buddhist clergy during a special meeting held yesterday (09) at the Presidential Secretariat with the Most Venerable Ittapane Dhammalankara Mahanayake Thero.

The Kotte Mahanayake Thero paid a courtesy call on the President and extended his blessings for the continued success of the government and the wellbeing of the Sri Lankan people. The meeting reflected the strong relationship between the country’s leadership and the Maha Sangha.

During the meeting, the President engaged in a cordial discussion with the Mahanayake Thera on matters concerning the nation and the importance of spiritual guidance in strengthening unity and ethical governance.

The Most Venerable Thero, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Dharma Vijayaloka Maha Vihara in Rukmale, Pannipitiya, conveyed his best wishes to President Dissanayake and offered religious blessings for the successful continuation of the government’s work.

Also present on the occasion was the Most Venerable Mapalagama Buddhasiri Thero, Senior Karmavagacharya of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha.

The meeting highlighted the continued role of the Buddhist clergy in offering spiritual guidance and blessings for the country’s leadership and national progress.
